Education and workshops have become a very important aspect in today’s generation. It is the ultimate way to get victory over all the personal and social problems. In order to live a better and peaceful life, we need to be educated.

It transforms us completely from inside and outside by changing our mind and personality as well as improving our confidence level. It changes our life completely as it is constructive in nature. With the middle class and the upper class very readily able to afford the cost of education and workshops. It has become increasingly harder for the poor and below the poverty line to access these kinds of education. This is where we saw an issue and decided to conduct a free workshop for the underprivileged children organized by the Shraddha trust.

A day before the workshop, the trustees and volunteers went to Vyasarpadi  located in Chennai, India and selected 10 children for the workshop.

We have conducted two workshops for the underprivileged children in Vyasapadi, Chennai.

One being “Summer Safety Reminder” conducted by

Another workshop “Wealth from waste” conducted by

Sowmeicaa Baskaran.

March 31, 2019 being the day that these auspicious events took place, the speaker’s who conducted the workshop were so delighted to have conducted these and were so happy to have interacted with these children.

In the “Summer Safety reminder” workshop we taught the effects of summer heat, ways to stay safe from the summer heat do’s and don’t, the types of food, diet and liquids that should be consumed in a hot climate, and also the best appropriate clothing to be worn as per their affordability.

The fun part of the workshop was that the kids heeded more interest to practically engaging in the activities that we taught them. One of the activities was to prepare dietary healthy drinks that would be more suitable to be sustained by the human body during the time of heat blazing summer weather and it turned out to be a huge success because we ended up having a lot of healthy drinks lined up in a row.

Furthermore, we did a workshop on “wealth from waste”. The children were educated on how harmful the use of plastic is to life on earth and how it has been polluting the environment for decades as plastic takes a lot of years to decompose thereafter they were taught several ways a plastic could be recycled and made eco friendly.

Mr. Baskaran was our chief guest and he works at Ashok Leyland and he’s also a social worker. Our chief guest has sponsored and helped many people in need.

After the workshop we honoured the children with certificate and medal for their excellent participation.

Shrradha honoured Sadhana and sowmeicaa for their wonderful job and honoured the volunteers for their support.

The guidance and support of our head A.G. Nartana Karthikeyan we accomplished this successfully. Shraddha trust thanks the trustees Jayasri Shanmugasiva and Venica Baskaran who helped us to conduct this workshop. We also thank the volunteers Jayashemba and Muneeswaran for their supportive volunteering.

After conducting this workshop, we are in constant touch with the children to see whether they are practising the things that were discussed in the workshop .However we will be conducting more workshops for the children. We encourage you all to register yourselves in the workshop and be benefitted by the enthusiasm we cultivate towards making the world a better place. It gives us immense pleasure and happiness to interact with children, spend our time conducting these workshops and look forward to conducting more.
