Ms. Sowmeicaa Baskaran
“Volunteer’s don’t get paid,not because they’re worthless,but because they’re priceless”
To set a stage in inspiring young minds to come forward to volunteer and also let them know that even a single act of kindness will never go unnoticed, Shrradha takes immense pride in introducing one of the Trustee of Shrradha; Ms. Sowmeicaa Baskran. Let’s see what Ms. Sowmeicaa has got to tell the world who have set an example in doing their bit for empowering the society in their own ways and been the backbone of Shrradha Charitable Trust through their selfless actions.
Ms. sowmeicaa is a student pursuing a degree in food technology and she is learning classical dance form bharanatyam from her Guru Smt. Sivanarulchelvi A.G.Nartana Karthikeyan; Founder of Shrradha Charitable Trust and CRTIAC.She shared about her volunteering journey and experience. she says that,
“My act of helping others was totally inspired by my beloved guru sivanarulchelvi Mrs. A.G.Nartana Karthikeyan. My mom always used to say respect elders, treat them with kindness and yeah I followed them with my whole heart but my guru was the one who showed there is no age differences to be kind or to help people, not only people every life that exist in the world. I used to be all playful, naughty girl in my early teens even now sometimes. Helping others is not something you can playfuly do its surely a responsible task. I see helping and volunteering is my responsibility as a human being. since I say helping is a responsibility, I do not say its a pressure. I’ll say its responsibility you choose to do. Whenever I do volunteering the amount of happiness and joy is immeasurable. Think of making someone else happy other then being focused on your happiness, just for once it becomes an positive addiction. Don’t get me wrong, the a delight is magical. And its not that only lives of our kind should be the only one to show our kindness, our winged and friends with tails should also be treated with the same kindness. I have special place in my heart for them. Secretly I will say that bring me much more joy. As I said ” its not something you should learn or thrive its something you have within that you should kindle.” As a teenager it really feels good to step out of your bubble and be there for others. I’m very greatfull for my mom who taught me and my Guru who kindled all the volunteering and goodness in me.”
